LETTER TO: COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENTS OFFICE

Den Danske Bank increases bid for Fokus Bank ASA

We have learned that Svenska Handelsbanken has increased its previous offer to
by all the shares in Fokus Bank ASA from 70 Norwegian kroner per share to 80
Norwegian kroner.

Against this background Den Danske Bank has resolved to increase its offer
submitted earlier today to buy the shares in Fokus Bank from NKr77 to NKr80.

The prerequisites, terms and conditions to the previous offer remain unchanged.

It is still important to Den Danske Bank that the offer is contingent upon a
recommendation by Fokus Bank ASA's board of directors to accept our bid.
