AEA Technology Group plc (the Company) is pleased to announce the appointment, with immediate effect, of John Lowry as Interim Chief Executive of the Group. Mr Lowry is appointed to the Board of the Company with immediate effect.

Having started out as a technologist who won a Queen's Award to Industry, John has spent his career working in leading edge technology companies including IBM, Accenture, General Electric Company, ICI, Ford Motor Company, Unilever and Thorn EMI. During that time, he developed a very wide range of management capabilities and over the last 18 years has utilised them in the start-up, turn-round, operational restructuring, refinancing, merger and acquisition of technology businesses in both the USA and Europe.

John is a director of and Chairman of Norbain Group Limited.

There is no information required to be disclosed under section 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
