                   ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE


               Arko Energy Holdings plc ("the Company" or "Arko")
                   Timing of announcement of interim results


The Board of Arko wishes to clarify the position with regard to the publication
of its interim results.

In the announcement released on 1 July 2002 it was stated that the Company would
be announcing interim results for the three month period ending on 30 June 2002.
Brief details relating to this three month period were set out in the Chairman's
Report contained in the audited accounts for the year ended 31 March 2002.

Unaudited accounts for the six month period ending on 30 September 2002 will be
prepared, announced and despatched to shareholders before 31 December 2002.

Thereafter, in view of the change in accounting year end to 31 December, interim
accounts will be prepared in respect of the period ending on 30 June in each
year.
