UK Regulatory
In the prior year the group decided to discontinue its medical
insurance arm named African Wellness Solutions. The two companies
set up specifically to cater for this service, African Wellness
Solutions Tanzania Ltd (AWS TZN) and African Wellness Solutions
Mozambique Lda (AWS MOZ), had been dormant over two years at that
point. It was decided that it is no longer the intention of the
board to provide medical insurance as part of its services.
The business of medical insurance was reclassified as a
discontinued operation and its trading results were included in the
consolidated income statement as a single line item below loss
after taxation from continuing operations and the comparatives were
restated accordingly.
