The Company has today been informed that on 11 November 1999 Aberdeen Asset
Managers Ltd purchased:

1,340,000 ordinary shares on behalf of Aberdeen High Income Trust Plc.
Aberdeen High Income Trust Plc now hold 6,340,000 shares representing 7.18% of
the issued share capital of that class;

1,355,000 ordinary shares on behalf of Leveraged Income Fund Ltd.  Leveraged
Income Fund Ltd now hold 7,355,000 shares representing 8.33% of the issued
class of capital;

1,355,000 ordinary shares on behalf of Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust plc. 
Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust plc now hold 7,355,000 shares representing
8.33% of the issued share capital of that class.

As a result of the above, the total number of shares managed by Aberdeen Asset
Managers Ltd and its associated companies is 22,910,944 shares representing
25.95% of the issued share capital of that class.
