GEARED INCOME INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

INCOME SHARES OF 25P EACH

The Company has today been informed that Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited sold
6,000,000 income shares (representing 5.46% of issued class of capital) on 11
November 1999 on behalf of Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc.

Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc now holds 10,000,000 income shares of the
Company, representing 9.10% of issued class of capital.

This notification also serves to inform that Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited
purchased 6,000,000 income shares (representing 5.46% of issued class of
capital) on 11 November 1999 on behalf of Leveraged Income Fund Limited.

Leveraged Income Fund Limited now holds 9,000,000 income shares of the
Company, representing 8.19% of issued class of capital.


The total number of income shares managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited
and its associated companies remains 30,424,554 income shares of the Company,
representing 27.68% of issued class of capital. 


ORDINARY SHARES OF 25P EACH

The Company has today been informed that Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited sold
3,000,000 ordinary shares (representing 3.28% of issued class of capital) on
11 November 1999 on behalf of Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc.

Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc now holds 3,000,000 ordinary shares of the
Company, representing 3.28% of issued class of capital.

This notification also serves to inform that Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited
purchased 3,000,000 ordinary shares (representing 3.28% of issued class of
capital) on 11 November 1999 on behalf of Leveraged Income Fund Limited.

Leveraged Income Fund Limited now holds 3,000,000 ordinary shares of the
Company, representing 3.28% of issued class of capital.


The total number of ordinary shares managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited
and its associated companies remains 10,000,000 ordinary shares of the
Company, representing 10.95% of issued class of capital.
