BFS Income & Growth Trust plc

ORDINARY 25P SHARES

The Company has today been informed that following the purchase of 2,400,000
ordinary 25p shares, representing 4.09% of the issued class of capital, on 20
September 2000, Aberdeen High Income Trust now have an interest in 3,900,000
ordinary 25p shares, representing 6.64% of the issued class of capital and
3.32% of the voting rights 

The Company has also been informed that, following the sale of 2,400,000
ordinary 25p shares, representing 4.09% of the issued class of capital, on 20
September 2000, Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust plc now has no interest in the
ordinary 25p shares. 

The total number of ordinary 25p shares now managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers
Limited and its associated companies remains 15,867,500 representing 27.01% of
the issued class of capital and 13.51% of the voting rights.
