On information supplied to the Exchange, the Ex Dividend date of 05-09-01 for
the dividend of 3.017p on the 5 3/8% RPI-Linked Debenture Stock 2007 has been
withdrawn.  This replaces the details published on the Dividend Information List
(RNS No.8224G) on 12/07/01 released 16:55.  All other details remain unchanged.

The Company announced a Notice of Early Redemption where the repayment will be 
at the adjusted redemption price together with the accrued interest up to and
including the redemption date, the 14-09-01.
