ROYAL LONDON UK EQUITY & INCOME TRUST PLC

The Company has today been notified that Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited
have purchased 245,000 ordinary shares of 1p each representing 0.35% of the
Company's issued share capital, on behalf of Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust
PLC.

As a result of this transaction,, Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust PLC now has
an interest in 2,169,623 ordinary 1p shares representing 3.10% of the issued
share capital.



The Company was also informed that Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited have also
sold 245,000 ordinary shares of 1p each on behalf of discretionary funds under
management.



As a result of these transactions, the aggregate number of shares managed by
Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited and its associated companies remains at 
12,553,000 ordinary shares of 1p each, representing 17.93% of the issued share 
capital of that class.
