The Company was informed on 2 August 1999, that as a result of the recent
placing Aberdeen Asset Managers Ltd acquired:

3,921,569 ordinary shares on behalf of Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc. 
Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc now hold 7,921,569 shares representing
9.11% of the issued share capital of that class;

1,470,588 ordinary shares on behalf of Aberdeen High Income Trust Plc. 
Aberdeen High Income Trust Plc now hold 6,365,588 shares representing 7.32% of
the issued class of capital;

1,764,706 ordinary shares on behalf of The Leveraged Income Fund Ltd.  The
Leveraged Income Fund Ltd now hold 3,264,706 shares representing 3.75% of the
issued share capital of that class.

The total number of shares managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Ltd and its
associated companies is 19,112,383 shares representing 21.97% of the issued
share capital of that class.
