SAMPO PRIME RATE TO 2.75 PER CENT

Sampo Bank's Board of Directors has today decided to raise the Sampo
Prime interest rate by 0.25 percentage points to 2.75 per cent as of
February 15, 2006.

Both short- and long-term interest rates have risen in the euro zone.
Inflation expectations are not declining in the euro zone because
economic growth is picking up and the price of oil shows no signs of
falling.
