SAMPO PRIME RATE TO 3.00 PER CENT

Sampo Bank has today decided to raise the Sampo Prime interest rate
by 0.25 percentage points to 3.00 per cent as of 21 June, 2006.

The change is due to the continued rise in both short and long-term
interest rates in the euro zone during the spring. Inflation
expectations are also showing no signs of declining in the euro zone.
