Notification of Major Interests in Shares

Goldshield Group PLC received today a notification from Barclays PLC informing
them that, as at 20 September 1999, Barclays PLC through its subsidiary,
Barclays Bank PLC, had a notifiable interest representing 29.01 per cent. of
the Company's issued Ordinary Share Capital.

The material holdings are registered as follows:
