          Launch Of New Hygiene Test, Pro-tect
                            &
 Signs Up Rentokil For Food Service & Catering Industry

Biotrace  International  PLC,  manufacturer  of   hygiene
testing  and microbial detection systems, is  pleased  to
announce  the  launch  of  its new  non-instrument  based
hygiene test, Pro-tect.  As announced on 6 January  this
is   the   first   product  resulting   from   Biotrace's
collaboration with Konica of Japan.

The  Company  also  announces  that  it  has  reached  an
agreement  with  Rentokil Initials Hygiene  division  to
include   the  new  test  in  their  unique  "CaterClean"
service.    Rentokil Hygiene, as well as selling Pro-tect
to  its  UK  customer base, will also promote  Biotrace's
Clean-Trace and Uni-Lite. products throughout  the  Food
Service  and  Catering  sector.    "CaterClean"  is   the
ultimate  deep cleaning service for any kitchen and  food
preparation area and has recently been accredited by  the
Royal Society of Health.

The official UK launch of Pro-tect takes place today  at
the  Hotelympia  Exhibition  in  London.   The  Companys
international distributors have taken an initial stock of
Pro-tect  and are actively promoting the product  within
their territories.

A simple colour change device that tells the user whether
a surface is clean or dirty.  No instrumentation or other
equipment is required and the test's simplicity, accuracy

Pro-tect  can indicate the hygiene status of any  surface
in   minutes  and  can  detect  even  minute  levels   of
contamination  invisible  to the  naked  eye.   The  user
simply  swabs  a  surface - be  it  a  work  area  or  an
important piece of catering equipment - and activates the
test  by  pressing the handle.  The test  changes  colour
according to the level of contamination and can  indicate
four levels of cleanliness allowing the operator to react
to an improperly cleaned surface very quickly.

Pro-tect, is currently being marketed at a price of
#1.25.
