    Signs Exclusive Five Year Agreement with Cogent
               Technologies of the US


Biotrace International Plc, the leading manufacturer of
hygiene testing and microbial detection instruments and
reagents, is pleased to announce that it has signed an
exclusive agreement to supply Cogent Technologies of
Cincinnati, USA with reagents for sterility testing of
UHT dairy products.  Cogent is a leading supplier to
the American dairy industry.

The five-year deal covers the supply by Biotrace of own-
label reagents to be used in Cogent's microbial detection
system plus an agreement to collaborate on the expansion
of sales to Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.   Biotrace
already has direct sales and support staff in these
countries, which will complement Cogent's own resources.
Biotrace has been supplying reagents to Cogent for the
past three years, and sales of reagents have more than
doubled over the last twelve months - this new agreement
will make a significant contribution to the global
expansion of Biotrace's food and beverage business.
