                  BIOTRACE INTERNATIONAL PLC (the "Company")


                           Director(s) Shareholding


The Company was today informed that Mr T A Clements, chairman of the Company,
purchased 8,333 ordinary shares of 10p each ("Ordinary Shares") at 60p on the
7 June 2001. Following this transaction, Mr Clements' beneficial interest is
24,083 Ordinary Shares, which represents approximately 0.07 per cent. of the
Company's issued ordinary share capital.


The Company was also today informed that Mr P W J Morgan, finance director of
the Company, purchased 5,000 Ordinary Shares at 60p on the 7 June 2001.
Following this transaction, Mr Morgan's beneficial interest is 50,000 Ordinary
Shares, which represents approximately 0.14 per cent. of the Company's issued
ordinary share capital.
