BIOTRACE INTERNATIONAL PLC

Biotrace International Plc has received a writ today from 
Mr Brian Levett, the former Chief Executive of the 
Company.

In the writ, Mr Levett is claiming amounts due under his 
contract of employment and reinstatement of options over 
1,761,363 shares which, in the opinion of the Board, 
lapsed as a result of the termination of his contract of 
employment on 24th November, 1995.

As announced previously on 26th September 1996, the Board 
strongly disagrees with the claim made by Mr Levett and 
will vigorously contest the action.
