BIOTRACE INTERNATIONAL PLC

On 24 December 1997 the Company announced that it had 
received a writ from Mr Brian Levett, the former Chief 
Executive of the Company, relating to the termination of 
his contract of employment on 24 November 1995.

The Court has concluded a summary hearing of the case and 
has ruled against Biotrace.

As a consequence, the Company has agreed to pay Mr Levett 
damages amounting to approximately #82,000 for breach of 
contract.  This amount was fully provided for in the 1996 
Report and Accounts.

In addition, the Court ruled that Mr Levetts options 
over 1,761,363 shares should be re-instated.

The Company is considering an appeal against the re-
instatement of the options.
