                          First Day of Dealings on AIM


Canton Property Investment Limited ("Canton Properties" or the "Company"), which
aims to become a leading commercial property developer in China, today announces
the commencement of dealings of its Ordinary Shares on the AIM Market of the
London Stock Exchange.


The Placing, which comprised 55 million new shares and 6.1 million existing
shares, raised US$ 49.5 million of new funds (before expenses) valuing Canton
Properties at US$ 368 million. Canton Properties will trade under the symbol
"CPIL".


Libertas Capital is both the nominated adviser and broker to Canton Properties.


Chief Executive Charlie Lin said: "We are delighted to have received such strong
support from backers who understand the fundamentals of our business in China.
Now we are offering AIM investors the chance to benefit both from the mainland
Chinese commercial property boom and from its consumer spending boom".
