Issue of Equity / Offer Closed

The Directors of Downing Protected VCT IV plc are pleased to announce an
allotment on 5 April 2006 of 281,778 ordinary shares of 1p each ("Ordinary
Shares"),  payable at 100p per share, pursuant to the Offer that opened on 28
March 2006 ("the Offer").

The Company has now issued 1,700,000 Ordinary Shares under the Offer and the
Offer closed on 5 April 2006, fully subscribed.

Application will be made at the earliest practicable opportunity for the above
shares, which will rank pari passu with existing ordinary shares, to be admitted
to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London
Stock Exchange's market for listed securities.

The issued share capital of the Company is now 21,700,002 Ordinary Shares.
