Dresdner RCM Emerging Markets Trust PLC ("the Trust") - Report and Accounts

The Trust announces that the Report and Accounts of the Trust for the year
ended 31st March 2001, incorporating the Notice of Annual General Meeting, are
being posted to shareholders today. The Annual General Meeting, will be held
on Thursday 26th July 2001 at 12.45pm at 20 Fenchurch Street, London, EC3P
3DB.

The Board has decided to circulate, with the Interim Statement to be announced
in November 2001, a notice of an Extraordinary General Meeting (at which
shareholders will be given the opportunity to vote on the continuation of the
Trust in January 2002) together with an outline of reconstruction proposals
which would be made if more than 50% of the votes cast at that Extraordinary
General Meeting are in favour of a reconstruction.
