For release at 7am 12 February 2007

                              EBT MOBILE CHINA PLC
                        ("EBT Mobile" or the "Company")

                    ACQUISITION OF SHANGHAI JINGXIN JIALING
                              TELECOMMUNICATION CO

EBT Mobile, a leading China-based retail chain selling mobile phones and related
products and services, is pleased to announce that its Chinese subsidiary
(Shanghai EBT Telecommunication Products Distribution Ltd.) has agreed to
acquire all eight retail stores and one mobile repair centre of Shanghai Jingxin
Jialing Telecommunications Co. ("JXJL") (the "Acquisition") for a total
consideration of up to #0.78m. The consideration will be satisfied by #0.13m
cash, paid upon the completion of the transaction and up to 2.4 million shares.
The share consideration will be determined by the operating status of the stores
in the two years following completion and will be subject to a one year lock-in
from the completion of the transaction. JXJL was one of the first entrants into
the mobile retail market for mobile products and services in Shanghai, China's
largest city, and is a China Mobile Shanghai authorised dealer. Based on
unaudited data for the year to 31 December 2006, JXJL generated profit before
tax of approximately #14,000 on revenue of #4.5m.

The stores acquired by EBT Mobile include the largest co-branded China Mobile
service hall in Shanghai and Motorola's first flagship store, opened on July 13
2006. This transaction will strengthen EBT's relationship with China Mobile, the
leading mobile operator in China, and Motorola (or "Moto"), the country's second
largest handset manufacturer. It also creates an improved platform from which
EBT can offer additional mobile services to its customers, including a dedicated
Moto authorized repair centre, the only Moto flagship store in Shanghai and the
ability to display more integrated products and value added services from one of
Shanghai's foremost service halls. The Acquisition takes the total number of EBT
Mobile stores to 221, a 15% increase over the 190 at the end of 2006. Management
expects the acquisition of these additional stores to be mildly earnings
accretive in 2007.

Zhang Ge, CEO of EBT Mobile said:

"As stated at the time of the placing in January 2007, EBT Mobile has been
actively seeking to acquire a local mobile phone retailer to strengthen its
position in the eastern region and we are delighted to announce the acquisition
of JXJL. JXJL operates free standing stores in attractive locations which will
complement EBT Mobile's current stores in malls and hypermarkets.

"We believe that JXJL's well trained staff, strong store track record and
customer base, combined with EBT Mobile's more centralized management, will add
value for shareholders. We intend to continue to build on our regional platform
and replicate the model to other regions in the future."

EBT Mobile expects to make further announcements in the near future in relation
to other planned uses of proceeds from the recent placing, as set out in the
announcement of 4 January 2007.
