POMPANO FIELD - OPERATIONS UPDATE

    Elixir Petroleum Limited ("Elixir"), the international oil and gas exploration and production company (ASX:EXR, AIM:ELP), provides the
following update on activities at the Pompano field in the Gulf of Mexico. 

    Well SL 103320 �4 ("Well �3") 

    Since our last announcement, the operator at the Pompano Project, AnaTexas Offshore Inc., has advised that the open hole section in Well
�3 has been abandoned and the well has been left in a suspended condition for future completion or as a sidetrack candidate. Data analysis
of the log data from Well �3 is continuing with a view to assessing future options for the well.

    The Hercules 152 drilling rig demobilised from the field and was off contract at midnight on 17 October 2008 (US/CST). This will be the
last operational update for Well �3.

    Well SL 103229 �1 ("Well �1")

    The operator continues to source equipment and materials for the workover to be conducted on Well �1. Planning is well advanced and
Elixir will make a further announcement when the workover operations commence.
