Guangdong Development Fund Limited ("the Company") announces that Mr. Li Wai
Keung was appointed a director of the board and the chairman of the Company with
effect from 21 July 2006.

Mr. Li is a director of GDH Limited, which through its subsidiary, Guangdong
Capital Holdings Limited, owns 10,000,000 ordinary shares in the Company,
representing approximately 10.3 per cent. of the issued share capital of the
Company.

Mr. Li is also a director and the Chief Financial Officer of Guangdong
Investment Limited ("GDI") and an independent non-executive director of Hans
Energy Company Limited ("Hans") and Shenzhen Investment Limited ("SZI"). He was
a director of Kingway Brewery Holdings Limited ("Kingway") and Guangdong Tannery
Limited ("GDT").  GDI, Hans, SZI and Kingway and GDT are listed on the Stock
Exchange of Hong Kong.

Other than disclosed above, there is no information in respect of Mr. Li to be
provided under paragraph 9.6.13 of the UKLA Listing Rules.
