                Statement re Change of Accounting Reference Date

The Board of Gresham Hotel Group plc ("Gresham") announce a change of year end
accounting reference date to 31 December.

This change in accounting reference date brings Gresham's financial year end
into alignment with industry norms and with the taxation year.

Consequent to this determination, the first audited accounts to be published by
Gresham will be made up to 31 December 2002, which will represent an approximate
11 month financial period.
