APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 
 
 
Henderson Global Property Companies Limited ("HGPC"), announces the appointment 
of Richard Battey as a non-executive director to the Board and Chairman of the 
Audit Committee with effect from 8 January 2010. 
 
 
Richard Battey is a resident of Guernsey and a qualified chartered accountant. 
He is a non-executive director of AcenciA Debt Strategies Limited*, Better 
Capital Limited*, Juridica Investments Limited*, Princess Private Equity Holding 
Limited*, Northwood Capital European Fund Limited and Falcon Investment Property 
SPC, together with a number of other investment companies and funds.  Mr Battey 
was previously a non-executive director of China Growth Opportunities Limited 
and Origo Resource Partners Limited. 
 
 
Mr Battey joined the Schroder Group in December 1977 and was a director of 
Schroders (C.I.) Limited from April 1994 to December 2004, where he served as 
Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer, and was a director of Schroder 
Group Guernsey companies covering banking, investment management, trusts, 
insurance and private equity administration retiring from his last Schroder 
directorship in December 2008. 
 
 
 From May 2005 to July 2006 he was Chief Financial Officer of CanArgo Energy 
Corporation which was engaged in oil and gas exploration and production in 
Georgia and Kazakhstan. 
 
 
*  For each of these four companies Mr Battey chairs the audit committee.
