            INCO LIMITED ANNOUNCES PARTICIPATION IN FIVE CONFERENCES
                WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE INVESTMENT COMMUNITY
                      OVER THE MAY 5 - JUNE 8, 2004 PERIOD


Toronto, April 27, 2004 -- Inco Limited ("Inco") announced today that it will be
participating in five conferences with representatives of the investment
community over the May 5, 2004 - June 8, 2004 period and that the text and
copies of the slides to be used as part of the presentations to be made at these
conferences will be posted on Inco's website. Presentations at certain of these
conferences will, as indicated below, be webcast on a live, listen-only basis
through third party webcasting services.

Scott M. Hand, Inco's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will be making a
presentation on Inco's plans and strategies at the Morgan Stanley Chicago
Chemicals, Metals & Mining Conference scheduled to be held in Chicago over the
May 4 - May 5, 2004 period. Mr. Hand is expected to speak beginning at
approximately 9:00 a.m. (Chicago time) on May 5, 2004. This presentation will
not be webcast. The text of Mr. Hand's remarks and the slides he will be using
at this conference will be posted on our website at the time of his presentation
as noted under the heading "To Access Slides and Text of Presentations" below.

Scott M. Hand will be making a presentation on Inco's plans and strategies at
the Merrill Lynch Global Metals, Mining and Steel Conference scheduled to be
held in Boston over the May 11 - May 13, 2004 period. Mr. Hand is expected to
speak beginning at approximately 8:10 a.m. (Boston time) on May 11, 2004. This
presentation will not be webcast. The text of his remarks and the slides he will
be using at this conference will be posted on our website at the time of his
presentation as noted under the heading "To Access Slides and Text of
Presentations" below.

Peter C. Jones, Inco's President and Chief Operating Officer, will be making a
presentation on Inco's plans and strategies at the Goldman Sachs 12th Annual
Cyclicals and Specialty Materials Forum scheduled to be held in New York City
over the May 18 - 20, 2004 period. Mr. Jones is expected to begin speaking at 8:
00 a.m. (New York time) on May 20, 2004. This presentation will be webcast
through a third party service and can be accessed as indicated under the heading
"To Access Webcasts of Presentations (Where Available)" below. The text of Mr.
Jones' remarks and the slides he will be using at this conference will be posted

presentation will be webcast through a third party service and can be accessed
