                           JOHNSON SERVICE GROUP PLC

Johnson Service Group PLC ("Johnson") has today purchased in the stock market
12 million Semara shares at #1.00 per share.  Johnson Service Group now owns
or has irrevocable undertakings over a total of 50.2% of Semara's issued share
capital.

Richard Zerny, Group Chief Executive of Johnson, stated:
"We are delighted that holders of over 50% of Semara's shares have already
committed, either irrevocably or by selling their shares, to accepting our
offer.  We believe that this demonstrates that we are offering a very fair
price and I would urge all remaining shareholders to accept the offer by the
first closing date."
