                              JOHNSON SERVICE GROUP PLC

                                   BOARD CHANGES

Johnson Service Group PLC announces the appointment of James "Jim" Wilkinson to
the Board as Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect.  He will succeed
Mike Sutton who has today resigned for personal reasons from the Board and the
Company.

Jim was previously Group Finance Director of Informa Group plc, which recently
merged with Taylor and Francis plc.  He had been with Informa since 1994 and
Group Finance Director since 1998 and was previously with Touche Ross.  He is 38
years old and is married with three daughters.

Jim Wilkinson has nothing to declare in relation to paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to (g)
of the UKLA Listing Rules.  His appointment will take effect from 27 September
2004.

Commenting on the Board changes, Stuart Graham, CEO, said:

"We would like to thank Mike for his considerable contribution over the 25 years
he has been with the Group and for the last 19 years as Finance Director and
Chief Financial Officer.  After two very difficult years, Johnson is now very
much refocused and he is leaving the Group in a stronger position.   We wish him
well for the future.

Jim has considerable experience in growth companies both in the UK and overseas
which we believe to be incremental skills to maintain the progress to date and
to take the Group forward."
