                Completion of Sale of US Drycleaning Subsidiary
                                       
On 26 January 1999, Johnson Service Group PLC announced that it had entered
into a contract to sell the whole of the issued share capital of its US
drycleaning subsidiary, Johnson Group Inc.  Johnson Service Group PLC are now
pleased to announce that this disposal was completed on 21 April 1999 and
initial proceeds of #18.8m ($30.6m) were received on that date.

Also on 26 January 1999 it was announced that Mr J P Barry, Chief Executive,
USA, would resign as a Director of Johnson Service Group PLC on completion of
the sale of Johnson Group Inc.  He has therefore resigned from the Board with
immediate effect.
