            Maypole Group plc to acquire The Bridge Inn, Acle, Norwich
                            ("Maypole" or "the Group")

Maypole Group plc ("Maypole"), the UK countryside hotel and restaurant group,
today announces that it has entered into an unconditional agreement to acquire
the business and premises known as The Bridge Inn, Acle, a popular waterside inn
/ restaurant for a total consideration of #300,000.

The acquisition will comprise a lease of 21 years from July 2003 together with
fixtures and fittings, valued at #110,000 and #40,000 respectively. In addition
goodwill of #150,000 is to be paid.

The Bridge Inn is located on the banks of the River Bure, alongside the A1064
which links Norwich to the Broads. The restaurant currently has 52 covers and is
supported by a bar area and family room which offers seating for a further 32
people. The consideration for the acquisition of The Bridge Inn will be
satisfied through the Group's bank facilities. For the year to 31 January 2007,
unaudited figures show that The Bridge Inn reported sales of #596,000.

be able to report another acquisition following on closely from the Wayford
Bridge Hotel, announced earlier this year. The two businesses are located in
close proximity, will be operationally related and serve to complement each
other.

our style of operation, increased purchasing power and established systems, we
expect to perform well with this latest acquisition.
