Share Purchase at USD1.64 per share

Pacific Alliance Asia Opportunity Fund Limited ("PAX" or the "Company") (AIM: PAX), the closed-end investment company admitted to trading on AIM and listed feeder for Pacific Alliance Asia Opportunity Fund L.P. (the "Master Fund"), announces that further to the announcement of 22 September 2014, the Master Fund will shortly commence the second part of its program to purchase Company shares.

The Master Fund will purchase up to USD29,494,625 of shares in the Company at USD 1.64 per share, a 5% discount to the 31 December 2014 Unaudited Net Asset Value per share. This total includes the unused USD14,494,625 carried over from the 24 October 2014 Share Purchase. The Master Fund has appointed Edmond de Rothschild Securities (UK) Limited ("Rothschild") to manage this program.

Purchase Price and Timetable

The Purchase Price will be USD1.64 per share, a 5% discount to the 31 December Unaudited Net Asset Value per share of USD1.73.

Shares will be purchased on Friday, 30 January. Shareholders wishing to participate in the Share Purchase should contact Rothschild (details below) by 4pm UK time on Thursday, 29 January to place an order.

To the extent that sell orders exceed the Master Fund's Share Purchase budget, orders will be scaled back pro-rata.
