Change of accounting reference date and announcement of interim results for the
                           period ended 31 March 2004


Compass Finance Group plc ("the Group") announces that it has changed its
accounting reference date to 30 September, in line with that of its wholly owned
subsidiary,  Compass Finance Limited.

In addition, the Group expects to announce its interim results for the period
ended 31 March 2004 on Friday 4 June 2004.
