                           THE GOLDEN GATE FUND PLC

                       CLASS A SHARES (THE "SUB-FUND")


         RE:     Redemption of all Shares and De-listing of Sub-Fund


The Directors of The Golden Gate Fund Plc (the "Company") wish to announce
that they have applied to the Irish Stock Exchange to delist the Class A
Shares (the "Shares") of the Sub-Fund, following voluntary redemption of the
entire Fund's Shares, there are no Shares currently in issue.


Application has been made for the Shares of the Fund to be removed from the
Official List of the Irish Stock Exchange and the Irish Stock Exchange has
agreed that the Shares be delisted with effect from today.


This announcement was not previously released due to an administrative
oversight.
