               Christmas Trading Statement


Partners  Holdings  PLC, the operator of  105  specialist
retail stationery stores, today announces details of  its
Christmas trading period.

                                   Like for Like Sales

8  weeks  ended 1st January  2000         +9.0%



Christmas   sales   were  in  line   with   expectations,
increasing  by  9.0%  on  a like  for  like  basis.  Core
stationery  products  performed well,  however,  seasonal
speciality  sales fell behind expectations  resulting  in
additional promotional activity to clear stocks. This has
resulted in a reduction in margins during this period.

The  overall  performance leaves the group  on  track  to
achieve its plans for the year.
