                         RESOURCES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

              SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE WITH NEWLAND RESOURCES LIMITED

The Company had previously announced that a claim had been received from Newland
Resources Limited ("Newland") in respect of an alleged repudiatory breach of the
Management Services Agreement between them. Newland and the Company have agreed
to settle all claims which either party have against the other under, or arising
out of the termination of such agreement. Under the terms of the settlement, the
Company has agreed to pay Newland #300,000 on or before 6th June 2007.
