                                 AGM STATEMENT


As indicated at the time of our preliminary announcement, we started the year
with a strong order book and a good level of order intake.  At the end of the
first quarter the order book had increased by 22%; reflecting good levels of
activity in most of our worldwide markets.  All three of our actuation divisions
are benefiting from increased levels of business and their performance is being
enhanced by a helpful currency environment.  The combination of the profile of
order intake and the improved productivity in our main facilities will result in
activity being more evenly balanced between the two halves of the current year.

The board has confidence that further good progress will be made in 2006.
