                                  Board Change

Alastair Clayton, Executive Chairman of South China Resources Plc, has resigned
his position as Chairman of the company. He remains on the board as non
executive director.

Nathan McMahon has taken over the position of Chairman.

Nathan McMahon stated, "We would like to thank Alastair for his contribution to
South China Resources. We shall continue to review mining opportunities with the
intention of obtaining benefit for South China Resources Plc and maximising
shareholder returns".
