                          SPG MEDIA GROUP PLC ("SPG")


APPOINTMENT OF NEW EXECUTIVES AND TRADING UPDATE



SPG announces the appointment of two new senior executives confirming trading is
broadly tracking market expectation.



SPG has appointed Keith John Sadler, age 46, to the board of directors as Group
Finance Director with effect from Monday 5th September 2005.  Keith brings a
wealth of Media and PLC experience based on his historic responsibilities at
Trinity Mirror Group PLC, News Communications & Media PLC, Bristol United Press
and latterly at the Wireless Group, where Keith was Group Financial Director.



In addition, Graham Anderson joins SPG on the 10th August as Managing Director
of the Communications and Publishing business.  Graham is a seasoned publishing
and media executive with many years experience as a director at EMAP where he
successfully managed part of the EMAP Construction portfolio with
responsibilities covering various magazines, publications, conferences,
sponsorship and award programs.
