AGM Statement and trading update


The Chairman of The Market Age plc ("the Company") made the following statement
at the Company's Annual General Meeting ("AGM") held yesterday, 4 February 2004.

"In the Chairman's statement issued on 6 January 2004, I referred to the
opportunities we expected to occur that would substantially enhance revenues for
Pronet Analytics.  I am pleased to report that we have now agreed the first such
contract and the first stage payment has been actioned.  The effect  of this
contract is to increase forecast revenues for the current financial year by more
than 100% compared to the full-year results to February 2003 announced last
month; and importantly, to enable me to report that as a result the Group will
attain operating break-even on the basis of earnings before interest, tax,
depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA).  We expect to be able to announce
further contracts in the near future and these are expected to have significant
further impact upon the trading performance of the Group, given that our
business model as an applications service provider incurs very low marginal
costs as our userbase expands."

At the AGM all resolutions were passed including the change of name of the
Company to Independent Investment Research plc, which was selected in order to
better reflect the direction of the Group in addressing the growing global
market for indpendent research across various asset types  Trading in the
Company's shares will commence under this name and with the new ticker "IIR"
once the relevant certificate has been received from the Registrar of Companies.
