                    RESULT OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING                    

27 February 2007

TRIO is pleased to announce that at the Extraordinary General Meeting, convened
yesterday, the resolutions proposed (1) to re-classify the Company's listing
from its current listing under Chapter 15 of the Listing Rules to that of an
overseas company listed under Chapter 14 of the Listing Rules and (2)
conditional on the re-classification becoming effective, to amend the Company's
articles of association in order to remove the restriction on the Company's
payment of dividends out of surpluses derived from the sale or realisation of
the Company's investments and approve the release of the profits credited to
the capital reserve of the Company in respect of such surpluses (details of
which were described in a circular to shareholders dated 2 February 2007) were
duly passed.

Shareholders should note that the re-classification will become effective on
Tuesday, 27 February 2007.

The results of the proxy votes lodged in advance of the meeting are set out
below:

Against 1,004

Withheld Nil

The votes in favour of the resolutions represent 18.25% of the issued share
capital of the Company and 99.94% of the votes cast.

A copy of the resolutions passed at the Extraordinary General Meeting will be
submitted to the Financial Services Authority ("FSA") and will shortly be
available for inspection at the FSA Document Viewing Facility, which is
