ADP ® today launched its International Adapter for Taxware
Enterprise, compatible with SAP® applications. The International
Adapter, developed by ADP's in-house sales, use, and value-added
tax experts, reduces the need for manual, daily updates by
constantly refreshing rates and analysis. The Taxware Enterprise
System is a multinational solution that automates sales, use and
value-added tax compliance processes, creating a seamless solution
for businesses operating in the U.S. from abroad as well as
businesses based in the U.S. operating overseas.
"The European Union made significant changes to the EU VAT
Package - Place of Supply Rules at the beginning of 2010," said
William Jan, Senior Research Analyst GRC & Financial Management
at Aberdeen Group. "These changes have a significant impact on many
multinational organizations, as these companies need to manually
reconfigure and test their systems running SAP applications. ADP
delivered these changes as part of their regular monthly Taxware
Enterprise updates. The efficiencies are monumental, as the changes
are content-driven as opposed to configuration-driven."
Configuration of ADP's International Adapter utilizes SAP's
standard remote function calls and tax procedures supported in the
SAP ERP and SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM)
applications and enhances key areas such as the mapping of new data
fields, audit updating, as well as date and jurisdiction
functionality. Upon completing the initial integration, no updates
are needed within SAP solutions to facilitate the change of a tax
rate or a rule across international borders.
"ADP is committed to providing clients with tax solutions that
integrate with their existing SAP solutions," said Bob Levis,
Division Vice President and General Manager of ADP's Sales, Use,
and Value-added Tax business. "Building out the Taxware Enterprise
solution internationally is a key initiative for ADP."
Key features of the International Adapter include:
- Added User Flexibility: The existing SAP
ERP and SAP CRM applications are modified as ADP manages the
complex tax compliance issues, which are normally processed
manually.
- Compliance Uniformity and Customization:
Companies based in and operating in the U.S. can seamlessly manage
cross-border tax regulations.
- Single Point of Contact: Businesses will
maintain one point of contact for tax issues, making it easier to
manage transaction tax issues.
- Tax Content and Research: ADP maintains
one of the industry's largest independent tax research staffs,
eliminating the need for a business to conduct this research
internally.
With the release of this International Adapter, ADP is now able
to offer clients who are also using SAP applications end-to-end
sales tax automation (tax engine, returns engine, and money
movement capability) in the United States, as well as tax
calculation in approximately 200 countries internationally.
ADP offers a growing suite of business solutions that interface
with SAP products. These include: GlobalView®, ADP Connection
Payforce, Sales, Use, and Value-Added Tax Solutions, Procure-to-Pay
Solutions, Payroll Tax Filing and Garnishment Services.
