Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) announces it recently entered into an agreement with the Performance Inc. group of the Dealer Services Division of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADP), enabling the association to begin offering 20 Groups to its members throughout North America. This enhanced service will strongly benefit dealerships by helping them to improve processes and sell more equipment and related services and parts.

ADP Performance Inc. (PI) is one of the largest providers of 20 Groups in North America and currently serves clients in many different industries. Performance 20 Groups are focused groups made up of industry members who meet to compare best practices and share ideas in order to improve their operations in productivity, efficiency, customer service and profitability. Historically 20 Group members, regardless of industry, perform at higher levels compared to their peers. ADP PI is also the leader in bringing Web-based metrics used to drive 20 Group discussions and industry reporting. The partnership with ADP PI and AED will enable construction equipment dealers to benefit from this effort just as many dealers in other industries have.

"AED is continually pursuing means to enhance our members' business interests and ways to assist our dealers in improving their operations," said Toby Mack, AED president and CEO. "In this economy, distributors must focus on the strategies that will help them through difficult times for the industry. Members who have already joined are reporting how effective these groups are in helping them find ways to improve their operations and their bottom lines."

"We are very excited to partner with AED to make Performance Groups available to the construction equipment industry," said Steve Larrimore, ADP Performance Inc. vice president and general manager. "Our success since 1974 in the many industries we serve is testimony to the power of 20 Groups in making our clients more effective, efficient and profitable. Partnering with AED means their members and the entire industry can benefit from our expertise."

In addition to the 20 Group Program, AED and ADP Performance Inc. are working toward new industry reporting standards that will assist their members by strengthening AED's efforts on behalf of their members in the areas of capital acquisition as well as government and industry affairs.
