ROSELAND, N.J., Dec. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ADP®, a leading
provider of human resource outsourcing, payroll services, tax and
compliance services, benefits administration and integrated
computing solutions for vehicle dealers, today announced that it
has received a national honor from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC)
– the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
(LGBT) civil rights organization.
For the third consecutive year, ADP received a 100 percent
rating in the HRC's Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The Index
recognizes that ADP has a diverse workforce and promotes inclusion
of all associates regardless of sexual orientation and gender
identity or expression
The CEI, released each fall since 2002, provides an in-depth
analysis and rating of large U.S. employers and their policies and
practices pertaining to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
employees.
The CEI rates companies on 40 specific policies and practices,
32 of which are either new, or even more demanding this year.
To achieve a perfect score and the coveted distinction of
being one of the "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality," companies
must have fully-inclusive equal employment opportunity policies,
provide equal employment benefits, demonstrate organizational LGBT
competency, provide evidence of their commitment to equality
publicly and exercise responsible citizenship.
Voluntary participation in the CEI has doubled since its
inception. In 2002, 319 companies participated; this year 636
companies participated.
"Once again, ADP is honored to be recognized by an organization
that values the importance of an inclusive and productive work
environment," said Tara Amaral,
ADP's Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President of Human
Resources. "At ADP, we are committed to fairness, equality
and inclusion. Being recognized by the Human Rights Campaign
Foundation encourages our continued efforts to attract and retain
people with diverse backgrounds and unique perspectives – and to
offer a work environment that promotes their development, growth,
and well-being."
