ROSELAND, N.J., Dec. 23,
2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ADP®, a leading global
provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, today
announced that Michigan Schools
and Government Credit Union (MSGCU), a credit union and financial
resource center serving members affiliated with select Michigan educational and government
institutions, has selected the ADP Vitality wellness program to
help minimize the impact of increasing healthcare
costs. The program will enhance MSGCU's existing wellness
initiatives by empowering employees to manage their health
effectively and seek preventive care in exchange for rewards.
More than two-thirds of midsized business owners and executives
cite the cost of health coverage and benefits as a primary concern
in a recent study, "Top Concerns and Challenges of Midsized
Business Leaders in 2013." MSGCU joins a growing list of
midsized companies committed to proactively managing the challenge
of increasing healthcare costs with ADP's Vitality wellness
program.
"We're taking an interactive and innovative approach to help our
employees live healthier lives," said Peter
Gates, President and CEO of Michigan Schools and Government Credit
Union. "Partnering with ADP, in combination with MSGCU's
wellness initiatives, will help us empower our employees to live
healthier lives by giving them access to educational tools and
resources from any computer or device. Employees will also be able
to earn incentives by making healthy decisions."
Since the inception of MSGCU's wellness program in 2012, the
company holds a quarterly healthy living series that educates
employees about nutrition and mental wellness. With the
implementation of ADP's Vitality wellness program, MSGCU employees
will be able to earn rewards for participating in medical exams,
having gym memberships and taking a Vitality assessment. By
pursuing multiple activities, employees can reduce their healthcare
benefits premium costs.
The ADP Vitality wellness solution helps midsized employers with
between 50 and 1,000 employees proactively manage rising healthcare
costs, while reducing healthcare claims and employee absenteeism.
Key features of this incentive-based program include an
interactive wellness portal, health risk assessments, biometric
screenings, and personalized wellness plans with recommended goals
and activities. The program integrates with social networking
sites, mobile applications, and fitness technologies to give
employees additional support as they pursue their wellness
goals.
"The ADP Vitality wellness solution gives employers new tools to
encourage employees to proactively manage their health," said
Regina Lee, President, Major Account
Services and ADP Canada, ADP. "The more invested employees
are in their health, the greater their reward will be in terms of
quality of life and cost savings."
