ROSELAND, N.J., Sept. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ADP®, a
leading global provider of human capital management (HCM)
solutions, today announced that it will provide a quarterly report
offering deep insights into U.S. workforce dynamics with the launch
of a new workforce index in October.
The new index will answer critical questions about the state of
the U.S. workforce, such as:
- How is the workforce thriving as a whole?
- How do major regions and large states compare?
- Which industries are doing well?
- Where are the jobs?
- What are the wage trends?
- What roles do age and gender play?
"The U.S. labor market is as dynamic and complex as it has ever
been, and this new index will help uncover key factors driving
workforce trends," said Carlos
Rodriguez, president and CEO of ADP. "The index will
provide a clearer picture of the vitality of today's workforce and
will provide business leaders and policy-makers with actionable
insights that are data driven."
The new index will measure quarterly changes in a broad range of
U.S labor market metrics, including:
- Employment growth
- Wage growth
- Job turnover
- Hours worked
These metrics will reveal key workforce trends over time by
geography, industry, wage tiers, tenure, age and gender, including
historical data for context.
The findings are derived from ADP's unique access to 24 million
anonymous, aggregated payroll data sets representing companies of
all sizes. The ADP Research Institute®, a
specialized group within ADP that provides insights around
employment trends and workforce strategy, will produce the report
each quarter in collaboration with Moody's Analytics, Inc.
"This index will give an unprecedented view of quarterly changes
and emerging trends in the U.S. workforce," said Ahu Yildirmaz,
vice president and head of the ADP Research Institute. "Our
vast base of anonymous and aggregated employee-level data provides
an unparalleled opportunity to investigate key dimensions of the
nation's workforce to provide a new understanding of how these
trends impact our economy and our individual organizations."
Data from the new index will form the basis of a high-level
panel discussion at the HR Tech Conference on October 9 in Las
Vegas. David Gergen, senior
political analyst for CNN, will chair a panel entitled
"Workforce 2020: How Data and Analytics Will Shape the
Workplace" that will discuss the implications of data analysis
and the workforce from an economic, academic and talent management
perspective. More information on the new workforce index can
be found here.
