Service Organizations Using ClickSoftware Report More Than 30
Percent Higher Productivity Than Industry Peers New Field Service
Benchmarking Study Reports Higher Efficiencies Among ClickSoftware
Customers BURLINGTON, Massachusetts, March 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/
-- ClickSoftware Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ:CKSW), the leading
provider of workforce and service optimization solutions, has
released a study showing that participants using ClickSoftware's
field service optimization software report more than 30 percent
higher productivity than industry peers. The study, "Measuring the
Impact of Field Service Optimization," was commissioned by
ClickSoftware and conducted by Downton Consulting. In late 2003,
Downton Consulting conducted a benchmark study including members of
the Association for Services Management International (AFSMI). In
conducting the benchmark for ClickSoftware, Downton Consulting used
the same methodology as it had for the AFSMI benchmark and compared
the responses of the AFSMI companies with the responses from
ClickSoftware users. According to the new study, participating
ClickSoftware customers are 31 percent more productive than the
AFSMI benchmark, measured by the number of field visits completed
per field technician per day. Other notable efficiency gains
include a 32 percent improvement in the dispatcher-to-service
technician ratio. "We used the same methodology and the same survey
instrument in performing both the AFSMI and the ClickSoftware
studies," said Steve Downton, president of Downton Consulting, "so
the comparison is very clear. The companies using ClickSoftware's
service optimization technology showed distinct productivity and
efficiency advantages over those companies that did not employ the
technology, without any decline in customer service." Terry Ray,
vice president of META Group's Energy Information Strategies
service, commented: "With continuing pressure to improve
performance and financial credibility, companies are re-examining
business processes to enable/improve customer acquisition and
satisfaction. For example, with over 40 percent of the companies'
workforces in the field, utility companies are looking for ways to
enhance resource optimization capabilities that enable an
enterprise to schedule/improve short- and long-cycle work. A
benchmark is an excellent tool to estimate potential gains."
According to Amit Bendov, senior vice president of worldwide
marketing at ClickSoftware, the benchmark study is a way of
communicating the value of optimization to those constructing a
business case for employing an optimization system. "It is easy for
companies to see how, if they achieve 10 percent productivity
increases, they can save significant amounts of money," Bendov
said. "That's easy math. What companies want to know is where they
stand in comparison to similar companies and how far they are from
reaching the performance levels other companies have attained. And
that is what this benchmark is all about. To my knowledge,
ClickSoftware is the only field service optimization company to
publish a third-party benchmark that compares its customers to the
AFSMI benchmark." Bendov also said that the benchmarking does not
end with the publishing of the study today, as ClickSoftware plans
to continue benchmarking its customers in an effort to continually
improve the benefits being driven by its solutions. "We see the
benchmarking of our customers as an ongoing effort, rather than a
one-time event," he said. "This is how we want to measure our
ultimate success." To receive a copy of the benchmark study, go to
