CINCINNATI, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LCA-Vision
Inc. (NASDAQ: LCAV), a leading provider of laser vision correction
services under the LasikPlus® brand,
today reported that 14,898 procedures were performed during the
first quarter of 2014, a decline of 8% from the 16,272 procedures
performed during the first quarter of 2013.
Michael J. Celebrezze, chief
executive officer of LCA-Vision, said, "As we previously disclosed,
procedure volume got off to a sluggish start during the quarter. We
are disappointed with the decline in volume this quarter although
inclement weather was certainly a factor in a number of our service
areas, as 27 centers were closed a total of 56 days, while 23
centers were partially closed for an additional 44 days during the
quarter."
