CHICAGO, June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stratos International, Inc. (NASDAQ:STLW), today announced that Brian J. Stark was elected to Stratos' Board of Directors at Stratos' recent stockholders meeting. Mr. Stark's election brings to eight the total number of directors on the Stratos board, six of whom are independent. Brian has spent his entire professional career at Johnson Controls having joined the company in 1972 as Sales Engineer and having most recently served as President of the Controls Group of Johnson Controls Group, Inc., a position he held since 1998. Under Brian's leadership in the Controls Group, products and services have expanded to be represented in 45 countries, with over 330 sales and services offices, 10 manufacturing plants and over 35,000 employees. "Brian brings strong operational and leadership skills and experience to Stratos and I look forward to working with him to create an expanding, profitable company," said Andy Harris, President and Chief Executive Officer. Brian serves on the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee School of Engineering and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
