(NASDAQ:TASRE), a market leader in advanced electronic control devices released the following News Alert: According to news reports from Canada's durhamregion.com, Whitby O.P.P. concluded a highway chase of a stolen police cruiser yesterday as the car crashed through the gates at Darlington nuclear plant. Using a TASER to subdue the suspect at the scene, police took 25 year old James Gordon Wilson into custody. At 12:30 a.m. early Tuesday morning, officers from the Whitby department of the Ontario Provincial Police attempted to pull over a stolen Suzuki that had been identified on Highway 401. After a short chase and crash, three men escaped from the stolen vehicle. Wilson then jumped into a nearby empty police cruiser and sped away leading officers from several police forces to converge in the chase to capture the stolen cruiser. The chase was ended as Wilson crashed again into the Darlington nuclear plant gates where Whitby O.P.P., Durham Regional Police and the O.P.P. from Toronto surrounded the stolen police car. As Wilson got out of the car, a struggle ensued and police deployed a TASER to subdue and arrest the suspect. Though the other two men involved still remain at large, Wilson is facing charges endangering life, assault to resist arrest, dangerous driving, flight from police, possession of stolen property and breach of probation.
